Four InsideHalos writers ranked the offseason's top free agents, while 11 contributors predicted where 30 of the biggest names will sign.
With the 2026 season officially in the books, attention now turns to one of the most exciting periods on the baseball calendar: the offseason, or more specifically, MLB Free Agency.
From established superstars and international talent to proven veterans and intriguing bounce-back candidates, this year's free-agent class features plenty of names capable of making an impact across Major League Baseball.
However, this offseason comes with an added layer of uncertainty. Major League Baseball's current collective bargaining agreement is set to expire on December 1 at 8:59 p.m. PT, with a potential lockout looming. Unless a new agreement is reached, teams could have less than a month to complete major league transactions before a potential freeze on free-agent signings, trades, and negotiations. Whether that uncertainty accelerates the market or causes teams to proceed cautiously remains to be seen.
To evaluate the market, four InsideHalos writers, Alex Sukyas, Brayden Zielke, Bryan Whitfield, and Micah Julian, independently submitted their personal Top 50 free-agent rankings.
Meanwhile, 11 of InsideHalos' 12 writers participated in our annual Free Agency Predictions Challenge, projecting destinations, contract lengths, and guaranteed values for the 30 players featured in Mark Feinsand's MLB.com free-agent rankings.
We also teamed up with fellow Angels content creators HaloTees, AngelsOnly, Angels Glazer, SuperHaloBros, and TaylorWardLover for our Creator Free Agency Predictions Challenge. Alongside InsideHalos, these six participating accounts submitted predictions for where some of baseball's biggest free agents will land, providing additional insight into players beyond Feinsand's Top 30.
We've combined these projects into one comprehensive offseason guide, featuring InsideHalos' consensus Top 50 Free Agents, our writers' contract projections and analysis, and destination predictions from the Angels content creator community.
How We Determined Our Rankings
Each of our four ranking contributors independently selected their Top 50 free agents. Their placements were averaged to create the official InsideHalos consensus rankings, with each writer contributing equally.
Players who did not appear on an individual writer's Top 50 received a score of 51 for that submission. The lowest average ranking earned the highest position on our list.
Our signing predictions were collected separately from 11 InsideHalos writers. For each of the 30 players included in Mark Feinsand's MLB.com free-agent rankings, we've identified the most frequently predicted destinations and calculated the average projected contract length and guaranteed value. Contract lengths are rounded to the nearest whole year, while projected values are displayed to the nearest $100,000.
For players outside Feinsand's Top 30, we've also incorporated destination predictions from our six participating accounts in the Creator Free Agency Predictions Challenge, where available. Unlike our writers' challenge, these submissions focused exclusively on potential landing spots rather than contract details.
Players who were not included in either prediction challenge feature additional InsideHalos analysis, highlighting their recent performance, potential landing spots, and expected market.
All rankings, predictions, and contract projections reflect the opinions of our contributors and editorial analysis. They do not represent confirmed negotiations, contract offers, or reported agreements.
InsideHalos' Top 50 Free Agents
1. LHP Tarik Skubal
Average Ranking: 1.00 (Unanimous No. 1)
Former Team: Los Angeles Dodgers
Most Predicted Destination: Los Angeles Dodgers (4 of 11 writers)
Other Potential Fits: Chicago Cubs (3), New York Mets (2), Boston Red Sox (1), Los Angeles Angels (1)
Average Projected Contract: 8 years, $381.5 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Micah Julian | Chicago Cubs | 9 years, $410 million
“Skubal and Boras will want to break the record for total value of a pitching contract. The Cubs have a huge need in the rotation and some money coming off the books.”
Jacob Firmage | Los Angeles Dodgers | 8 years, $340 million
“I wanted to go with Tigers and feel like them and the Padres are big teams in the mix. But why didn’t the Tigers do this a few months ago? Will Padres have freedom to spend? Safe bet feels Dodgers.”
Brayden Zielke | New York Mets | 9 years, $420 million
“I think the Mets will swoop in and just offer the most. Other teams might be cautious with the CBA and I think the Dodgers will hold off because of their current rotation and massive contracts”
Kian Behravan | Los Angeles Angels | 8 years, $300 million
“We're known for these kinds of contracts. A big superstar we lock a lot of money and time into ends up falling off horrendously after 3 seasons. (i.e. Albert Pujols, CJ Wilson, Josh Hamilton, Anthony Rendon.)”
2. OF Seiya Suzuki
Average Ranking: 3.50
Former Team: Chicago Cubs
Most Predicted Destination: Chicago Cubs (3 of 11 writers)
Other Potential Fits: Toronto Blue Jays (2), Philadelphia Phillies (1), Kansas City Royals (1), Detroit Tigers (1), Texas Rangers (1), Seattle Mariners (1), Boston Red Sox (1)
Average Projected Contract: 5 years, $116.8 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Kian Behravan | Chicago Cubs | 6 years, $145 million
"He's their franchise guy, and he's been doing well for the team."
Micah Julian | Toronto Blue Jays | 5 years, $135 million
"Toronto needs pop in the lineup and would love to add another Japanese star to pair with Okamoto."
Bryan Whitfield | Texas Rangers | 3 years, $67.5 million
"The Texas Rangers could use another thumper in the middle of their lineup. Suzuki could fit in nicely in a hybrid role with Brandon Nimmo, sharing time at DH and right field. They could also give Wyatt Langford more time in center field in place of Evan Carter, who has had a rough start to his major league career. That would allow Suzuki and Nimmo to play the corner outfield spots."
Cade Lalim | Detroit Tigers | 4 years, $115 million
"The Tigers really lacked production in right field this year, and I think Suzuki would be a great fit."
3. RHP Freddy Peralta
Average Ranking: 4.00
Former Team: Tampa Bay Rays
Most Predicted Destination: Tampa Bay Rays (4 of 11 writers)
Other Potential Fits: Chicago White Sox (2), San Francisco Giants (2), Chicago Cubs (1), Detroit Tigers (1), Houston Astros (1)
Average Projected Contract: 5 years, $133.3 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Cade Lalim | Tampa Bay Rays | 6 years, $168 million
"Peralta turned his season around for the better in Tampa Bay and got to witness firsthand how good of a team they are by instantly making the World Series."
Bryan Whitfield | Chicago White Sox | 4 years, $95.7 million
"The White Sox need a top-of-the-line starter to lead their young rotation. They didn't do enough at the deadline to address that need, and Luis Castillo did not cut it. Peralta's strong postseason and second half with the Rays should benefit his contract value this offseason. The Cubs are another team that makes a lot of sense, especially with his former manager, Craig Counsell, there."
Alex Sukyas | San Francisco Giants | 7 years, $200 million
"The Giants make a lot of sense to me. Peralta would fit the team's needs perfectly and serve as a No. 1 or No. 2 starter alongside Logan Webb. If not the Giants, I could see Kroenke making a push for him, assuming this season isn't focused primarily on rebuilding the front office."
Jacob Firmage | Detroit Tigers | 5 years, $125 million
"Peralta had such a turnaround with the Rays that I wish he would stay there. But with their spending, it feels unlikely. The Tigers jump in here after missing out on Skubal."
4. RHP Michael King
Average Ranking: 4.25
Former Team: San Diego Padres
Most Predicted Destination: San Diego Padres (6 of 11 writers)
Other Potential Fits: Toronto Blue Jays (1), Baltimore Orioles (1), Philadelphia Phillies (1), Atlanta Braves (1), New York Yankees (1)
Average Projected Contract: 5 years, $132.0 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Micah Julian | San Diego Padres | 5 years, $160 million
"The Padres have big needs in the rotation and new owners who are motivated to spend."
Cade Lalim | San Diego Padres | 4 years, $116 million (Opt-out after Year 3)
"Two of King's best career seasons came in San Diego. The Padres have the money and will need starting pitching. A reunion just seems right in this scenario."
Brayden Zielke | Atlanta Braves | 5 years, $135 million (Opt-out after Year 3)
"Braves will be the most desperate for a frontline starter."
Jacob Firmage | Baltimore Orioles | 4 years, $124 million (Opt-outs after Years 2 and 3)
"Feel he is the arm the Orioles finally go for. They need frontline even if they bring Rogers back."
5. 3B Teruaki Sato
Average Ranking: 4.75
Former Team: Hanshin Tigers of the NPB
Most Predicted Destination: Philadelphia Phillies (3 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Los Angeles Angels (2), New York Yankees (2), Chicago White Sox (1), Minnesota Twins (1), New York Mets (1), Seattle Mariners (1)
Average Projected Contract: 5 years, $127.3 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Bryan Whitfield | Los Angeles Angels | 5 years, $97.5 million
“Sato will be the most highly sought out position player this offseason. With new ownership coming in for the Halos, Stan Kroenke may want to make a splash. Sato would help him do just that. The Angels could use a left-handed hitter in the middle of their lineup. It's unclear where Sato ends up playing but the Angels have room at 3B, they could move him to 1B if they decide to move on from Schanuel. One thing to note, the Angels currently don't have a GM in place, so it's unclear what their plan is this offseason.”
Jas Singh | New York Yankees | 5 years, $95.0 million
“The Japanese slugger offers enormous left-handed power and potential corner-infield value. Yankee Stadium is an intriguing offensive fit, and New York has the resources to compete for international talent. The Japanese pro to Yankee pipeline is deep which again makes this an intriguing fit.”
Cruz Cambero | New York Mets | 7 years, $105.0 million
“I like the Mets as a fit because they have shown interest in him, and his left-handed power and ability to play third base, first base, or the outfield would give their lineup another major offensive weapon.”
6. OF Randy Arozarena
Average Ranking: 5.25
Former Team: Seattle Mariners
Most Predicted Destination: Philadelphia Phillies (5 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Toronto Blue Jays (2), Detroit Tigers (1), Kansas City Royals (1), New York Yankees (1), Tampa Bay Rays (1)
Average Projected Contract: 4 years, $95.5 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Cruz Cambero | Philadelphia Phillies | 5 years, $120.0 million
“I have Randy Arozarena signing a 5-year, $120 million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies, with a player opt-out after the third year, because Philadelphia needs another right-handed power bat behind Bryce Harper, and Arozarena's power, speed and postseason experience make him a strong fit.”
Zac Holladay | New York Yankees | 4 years, $84.0 million
“Arozarena lives for the big moment and Randy would play perfect in New York. After Yankees lose out of the bigger free agents, they would proudly pay someone who’s lower risk, higher reward.”
Cade Lalim | Toronto Blue Jays | 5 years, $125.0 million
“The Blue Jays need a solidified outfielder and Arozarena just seems like a good fit here.”
7. 2B Brandon Lowe
Average Ranking: 8.75
Former Team: Pittsburgh Pirates
Most Predicted Destination: Pittsburgh Pirates (7 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: New York Mets (1), New York Yankees (1), San Francisco Giants (1), Seattle Mariners (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $60.7 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Cruz Cambero | San Francisco Giants | 3 years, $60.0 million
“I have Brandon Lowe signing a 3-year, $60 million contract with the San Francisco Giants, with a player opt-out after the second year, because San Francisco needs more power in its lineup, and Lowe would give them an established middle-of-the-order bat at second base.”
Bryan Whitfield | Pittsburgh Pirates | 3 years, $46.8 million
“Lowe was an incredible addition for the Pirates last offseason and it seemed like he enjoyed his time in Pittsburgh. It would be a failure on Ben Cherrington part if he didn't bring back Brandon Lowe this offseason.”
Jas Singh | Seattle Mariners | 3 years, $55.0 million
“Seattle needs another dangerous bat. Lowe hit 35 home runs in 2026, making him a strong candidate to add immediate power to a lineup that needs more production around its core.”
8. 2B Jazz Chisholm Jr.
Average Ranking: 10.75
Former Team: New York Yankees
Most Predicted Destination: Los Angeles Angels (5 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Athletics (1), Detroit Tigers (1), New York Yankees (1), Pittsburgh Pirates (1), San Francisco Giants (1), Washington Nationals (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $76.2 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Cruz Cambero | Los Angeles Angels | 4 years, $80 million
“I have Jazz Chisholm Jr. signing a 4-year, $80 million contract with the Los Angeles Angels, with a player opt-out after the third year, because the Angels desperately need an upgrade at second base, and his power, speed, and defensive versatility would give their lineup a much-needed boost.”
Cade Lalim | Athletics | 1 years, $18 million
“The A's I guess could use a new second baseman and Chisholm Jr. could maybe fit it the picture. It would be an interesting signing for sure.”
Zac Holladay | Washington Nationals | 1 years, $14 million
“Because no one wants Jazz for his controversial personality and the Nats will pick him up just to trade him at the deadline.”
9. LHP Trevor Rogers
Average Ranking: 11.00
Former Team: Baltimore Orioles
Most Predicted Destination: Baltimore Orioles (3 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Los Angeles Angels (2), Chicago White Sox (1), Cincinnati Reds (1), Houston Astros (1), San Diego Padres (1), St. Louis Cardinals (1), Toronto Blue Jays (1)
Average Projected Contract: 4 years, $80.2 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Bryan Whitfield | Los Angeles Angels | 4 years, $82 million
“The Angels always seem to need some pitching. Trevor Rogers might be one of the most underrated arms on the open market this offseason. If new ownership wants to bring in another arm into this rotation, Rogers could be a nice formidable piece to pair alongside Reid Detmers and Walbert Urena, assuming they don't deal Detmers that is.”
Cruz Cambero | Baltimore Orioles | 4 years, $80 million
“I have Trevor Rogers re-signing with the Baltimore Orioles on a 4-year, $80 million contract with a player opt-out after the third year, because Baltimore has been his best home over the past two seasons, and keeping a proven left-handed starter would help anchor its rotation alongside Kyle Bradish and Shane Baz.”
Zac Holladay | Cincinnati Reds | 1 years, $18 million
“The Reds will want to take a flier on a guy who could be one of the better pitchers in the league. They usually make low-risk deals for cheap.”
10. LHP Adrián Morejón
Average Ranking: 11.00
Former Team: San Diego Padres
Most Predicted Destination: San Diego Padres (3 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Los Angeles Angels (2), Arizona Diamondbacks (1), Chicago Cubs (1), Houston Astros (1), New York Mets (1), New York Yankees (1), San Francisco Giants (1)
Average Projected Contract: 4 years, $58.2 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Bryan Whitfield | New York Yankees | 4 years, $70 million
“Morejón is the best reliever on the market this offseason, the Yankees could really use the bullpen help especially if they don't bring back David Bednar. Morejón could slot in nicely as their closer in 2027. That being said expect ALOT of suitors, especially if teams are open to converting Morejón into a starter.”
Cruz Cambero | San Diego Padres | 4 years, $48 million
“I have Adrián Morejón signing a 4-year, $48 million contract with the San Diego Padres, with a player opt-out after the third year, because San Diego knows how valuable he is to its bullpen, and his 2.83 ERA with 107 strikeouts in 2026 makes him worth a long-term commitment.”
Alex Sukyas | Los Angeles Angels | 5 years, $60 million
“The bullpen should be at the top of the list of needs to be addressed by the new front office. Morejón is a good reliever expected to sign in the 10-15 million AAV range. Would make perfect sense for the Angels.”
11. RHP Sonny Gray
Average Ranking: 11.00
Former Team: Boston Red Sox
Most Predicted Destination: Atlanta Braves (4 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Does Not Sign (2), Arizona Diamondbacks (1), Boston Red Sox (1), Chicago Cubs (1), Houston Astros (1), San Diego Padres (1)
Average Projected Contract: 2 years, $45.4 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Bryan Whitfield | Atlanta Braves | 2.0 years, $43.0 million
“After turning down his $30M player option, he will head back to the open market. The soon to be 37 year old is hoping to stay near his hometown in Nashville. The Braves feel like a great fit for Gray's services and coming off an incredible season, he could probably get a 2 year deal even at the age of 37.”
Cruz Cambero | Chicago Cubs | 2.0 years, $50.0 million
“I have Sonny Gray signing a 2-year, $50 million contract with the Chicago Cubs, with no opt-out, because Chicago needs to replenish its starting rotation, and Gray's experience, consistency, and ground-ball ability make him an excellent fit for the Cubs' pitching philosophy.”
Brayden Zielke | San Diego Padres | 3.0 years, $66.0 million
“Padres pivot after losing Michael King. Although Gray reportedly wants to stay close to Nashville, the fit here makes a lot of sense.”
12. 2B Luis Arraez
Average Ranking: 12.00
Former Team: Philadelphia Phillies
Most Predicted Destination: Philadelphia Phillies (4 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Texas Rangers (3), Athletics (1), Los Angeles Angels (1), Minnesota Twins (1), Toronto Blue Jays (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $51.4 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Bryan Whitfield | Athletics | 4 years, $68 million
“Luis Arraez would be a perfect fit for the Athletics who currently have Donovan Walton penciled in at 2B. Why you might ask, "because he gets on base". New A's President of Baseball Operations, Taylor Smith, could look to bolster his lineup by signing Arraez and giving him some long term security.”
Cruz Cambero | Texas Rangers | 2 years, $46 million
“I have Luis Arráez signing a 2-year, $46 million contract with the Texas Rangers, with no opt-out, because Texas could use his elite contact hitting to improve its lineup, and his ability to play second base and first base gives them some added flexibility.”
Cade Lalim | Toronto Blue Jays | 3 years, $50 million
“The Blue Jays could use help at second base with Ernie Clement down year. He could also play first if need or serve as the designated hitter. Toronto lacked batters that got on base and Arraez could help with that.”
13. C Ryan Jeffers
Average Ranking: 13.75
Former Team: Minnesota Twins
Most Predicted Destination: New York Yankees (3 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Los Angeles Angels (2), Minnesota Twins (2), Boston Red Sox (1), Chicago Cubs (1), Miami Marlins (1), New York Mets (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $43.1 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Cruz Cambero | Minnesota Twins | 4 years, $64 million
“I have Ryan Jeffers signing a 4-year, $64 million contract with the Minnesota Twins, with a player opt-out after the third year, because Minnesota needs to retain its starting catcher, and Jeffers has established himself as one of the better offensive catchers in baseball while expressing interest in returning.”
Cade Lalim | Boston Red Sox | 2 years, $26 million
“Jeffers is more of a bat-first catcher and could pair really nicely with Adley Rutschman who only caught 81 games in 2026. They could alternate between catcher and designated hitter.”
Alex Sukyas | Los Angeles Angels | 3 years, $40 million
“D'Arnaud leaving, great opportunity to have Jeffers come on and have a platoon of Jeffers and Ballestros, with Jeffers batting R and Ballestros Batting L.”
14. RHP David Bednar
Average Ranking: 15.50
Former Team: New York Yankees
Most Predicted Destination: New York Yankees (6 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Detroit Tigers (1), Los Angeles Angels (1), Philadelphia Phillies (1), St. Louis Cardinals (1), Washington Nationals (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $52.1 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Brayden Zielke | New York Yankees | 3 years, $60.0 million
“Yankees will really want to retain him, especially after his electric September and his great postseason appearances.”
Zac Holladay | Detroit Tigers | 3 years, $48.0 million
“Yankees will look to acquire a new all star closer and the Tigers need an actual closer who they can rely on.”
Micah Julian | New York Yankees | 4 years, $72.0 million
“The Yankees scored by getting Bednar at the 2025 deadline, and they need to do everything to keep him.”
15. 1B Jake Bauers
Average Ranking: 17.00
Former Team: Milwaukee Brewers
Most Predicted Destination: Milwaukee Brewers (5 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Cleveland Guardians (2), Arizona Diamondbacks (1), New York Mets (1), New York Yankees (1), Pittsburgh Pirates (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $49.9 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Zac Holladay | Milwaukee Brewers | 2 years, $36.0 million
“He will not want to go elsewhere after the Brewers successful season.”
Kian Behravan | New York Yankees | 3 years, $30.0 million
“Jake loves pulling pitches. So does Yankee Stadium.”
16. OF Ian Happ
Average Ranking: 17.00
Former Team: Chicago Cubs
Most Predicted Destination: Chicago Cubs (4 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Seattle Mariners (3), Kansas City Royals (1), New York Mets (1), Philadelphia Phillies (1), Toronto Blue Jays (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $58.1 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Cade Lalim | Kansas City Royals | 2 years, $38.0 million
“The Royals could use an upgrade in left field and Happ could be a solid option, plus he won't cost very much. You also know exactly what to expect from him year after year.”
Micah Julian | Chicago Cubs | 4 years, $68.0 million
“Happ is a fan-favorite in Chicago, and should age well as he hits his mid 30's.”
17. RHP Kaima Taira
Average Ranking: 19.00
Former Team: Saitama Seibu Lions of the NPB
Most Predicted Destination: Los Angeles Dodgers (4 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: San Francisco Giants (2), Los Angeles Angels (1), New York Mets (1), San Diego Padres (1), St. Louis Cardinals (1), Toronto Blue Jays (1)
Average Projected Contract: 4 years, $74.3 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Brayden Zielke | Los Angeles Dodgers | 4 years, $60.0 million
“Dodgers love signing Japanese players. Losing Skubal gives them an opportunity to insert Taira into their rotation despite having a lot of options.”
Alex Sukyas | Los Angeles Angels | 3 years, $39.0 million
“Asian population in Southern California, need for pitchers, new ownership, only reason I'd doubt us getting him is that there are other teams bidding too, so if we're fierce enough, I have full faith he'll play next season at the Big A.”
18. RHP Clay Holmes
Average Ranking: 19.50
Former Team: Chicago Cubs
Most Predicted Destinations: Chicago White Sox (2 of 11), San Francisco Giants (2 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Arizona Diamondbacks (1), Atlanta Braves (1), Chicago Cubs (1), Los Angeles Angels (1), New York Mets (1), San Diego Padres (1), Tampa Bay Rays (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $49.6 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Zac Holladay | Chicago White Sox | 2 years, $35.0 million
“Not exactly sure how big Holmes’ market will be. I believe that Holmes will need a bigger year to get his big payday and the White Sox could be a great spot to breakout.”
Kian Behravan | New York Mets | 2 years, $24.0 million
“The Mets got what they wanted from him with the trade, now they want him back.”
19. RHP Nick Martinez
Average Ranking: 20.00
Former Team: Tampa Bay Rays
Most Predicted Destination: Tampa Bay Rays (4 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Baltimore Orioles (2), Cincinnati Reds (2), Chicago White Sox (1), Los Angeles Angels (1), Milwaukee Brewers (1)
Average Projected Contract: 2 years, $40.0 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Micah Julian | Tampa Bay Rays | 3 years, $54.0 million
“Martinez was helped by the Rays and helped the Rays, and they would be wise to continue this relationship.”
Brayden Zielke | Cincinnati Reds | 2 years, $50.0 million
“Seems like the Reds really want him back. I do think he deserves more than his projected contract and will get it.”
20. LHP Shota Imanaga
Average Ranking: 20.50
Former Team: Chicago Cubs
Most Predicted Destination: Houston Astros (4 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: San Diego Padres (2), Baltimore Orioles (1), Chicago Cubs (1), New York Yankees (1), San Francisco Giants (1), Texas Rangers (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $63.4 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Alex Sukyas | Houston Astros | 3 years, $75.0 million
“Houston just got Imai back, and Imanaga could very well be the missing piece to a rotation already consisting of Hunter Brown and Ronel Blanco.”
Kian Behravan | Texas Rangers | 2 years, $45.0 million
“The Rangers have one lefty starter in MacKenzie Gore, who is mediocre at best. With Degrom likely getting hurt again, it's not a bad idea to balance out the rotation with another solid, experienced arm.”
21. RHP Tyler Mahle
Average Ranking: 20.75
Former Team: Atlanta Braves
Most Predicted Destination: Atlanta Braves (6 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Chicago Cubs (2), Baltimore Orioles (1), Los Angeles Angels (1), St. Louis Cardinals (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $48.7 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Zac Holladay | Baltimore Orioles | 1 years, $16.0 million
“Because Orioles are cheap and won’t pay any of the big pitchers.”
Brayden Zielke | Los Angeles Angels | 2 years, $38.0 million
“Mahle is from Newport Beach and would fit in extremely well in an Angels rotation that could use another veteran presence. His time in SF is extremely concerning. His time in ATL is extremely promising. I think it's worth a shot.”
22. 1B Ty France
Average Ranking: 22.75
Former Team: San Diego Padres
Most Predicted Destination: San Diego Padres (4 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Cleveland Guardians (1), Detroit Tigers (1), Los Angeles Angels (1), Minnesota Twins (1), New York Mets (1), Toronto Blue Jays (1), Washington Nationals (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $37.6 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Micah Julian | San Diego Padres | 3 years, $36.0 million
“France is a California guy who had his best year this season. It makes too much sense.”
Kian Behravan | Detroit Tigers | 5 years, $75.0 million
“Gleyber Torres is gone, so the Tigers need a solid 2nd basemen. Not only can France play 2nd, but he can play the rest of the infield as well.”
23. RHP Casey Mize
Average Ranking: 23.75
Former Team: San Diego Padres
Most Predicted Destination: San Francisco Giants (3 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Chicago White Sox (2), Detroit Tigers (2), Athletics (1), Los Angeles Angels (1), Pittsburgh Pirates (1), San Diego Padres (1)
Average Projected Contract: 2 years, $31.1 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Jas Singh | Los Angeles Angels | 2 years, $35.0 million
“This is a reclamation opportunity. Mize is a former No. 1 overall pick with upside, and the Angels could offer him a rotation spot without making a massive long-term commitment.”
Cade Lalim | San Francisco Giants | 2 years, $32.0 million
“Mize can get hit hard at times but he could fit well at pitcher-friendly Oracle Park.”
24. RHP Kevin Gausman
Average Ranking: 24.75
Former Team: Chicago Cubs
Most Predicted Destination: Toronto Blue Jays (3 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Atlanta Braves (1), Baltimore Orioles (1), Chicago Cubs (1), Colorado Rockies (1), Detroit Tigers (1), Houston Astros (1), Los Angeles Angels (1), San Francisco Giants (1)
Average Projected Contract: 2 years, $34.0 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Alex Sukyas | Atlanta Braves | 3 years, $46.0 million
“With Mahle departing, the braves should target another veteran starter, and with Guasman's relatively low pricetag, in which I believe they can get him for lower than his pricetag, he'll make for a good option.”
Kian Behravan | Baltimore Orioles | 1 years, $15.0 million
“Gausman is nearing the end of his career, and the Orioles have a hole to fill with Trevor Rogers gone. It's likely a last ride with the pitcher's first team will happen.”
25. 2B Gleyber Torres
Average Ranking: 28.25
Former Team: Detriot Tigers
Most Predicted Destinations: Miami Marlins (2 of 11), Detroit Tigers (2 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Athletics (1), Colorado Rockies (1), New York Yankees (1), San Francisco Giants (1), Seattle Mariners (1), Toronto Blue Jays (1), Washington Nationals (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $53.4 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Cade Lalim | Colorado Rockies | 2 years, $36.0 million
“The Rockies sort of have a whole at second base and Torres would be a good veteran presence for a young Colorado team.”
Alex Sukyas | Toronto Blue Jays | 6 years, $120.0 million
“While Toronto does already have Clement at 2nd, and if im not mistaken, Gimenez can alternate between 2nd and SS, I think Toronto will pursue Torres for a reliable middle of the order bat. Also I know it is a bold prediction giving Torres 6 years, but after signing for. years with Detroit, I think he'll pursue something big this offseason.”
26. 3B Alec Bohm
Average Ranking: 29.00
Former Team: Philadelphia Phillies
Most Predicted Destination: Los Angeles Angels (4 of 11)
Other Potential Fits: Cincinnati Reds (2), Baltimore Orioles (1), Cleveland Guardians (1), Minnesota Twins (1), New York Yankees (1), St. Louis Cardinals (1)
Average Projected Contract: 3 years, $40.2 million
What Our Writers Are Saying
Brayden Zielke | Los Angeles Angels | 3 years, $45.0 million
“Bohm is who I want the Angels to sign most, and I have been advocating acquiring him for years. His 2026 was rough, but his 2024 and 2025 seasons justify giving him 15 mil AAV and finally getting a real 3B.”
Kian Behravan | Los Angeles Angels | 5 years, $60.0 million
“Denzer Guzman isn't quite ready for a starting spot at third. If the new owner is willing to spend, he'll splurge on Bohm.”

The veteran catcher offers experience behind the plate, defensive reliability, and a right-handed bat capable of contributing in a starting or rotational role. Cincinnati could emerge as a potential destination with Tyler Stephenson entering free agency, while a return to Chicago remains possible. Kelly could attract interest on a two-year contract, with a third year potentially available depending on the market.

The 2025 Sawamura Award winner offers strong command, durability, and a diverse pitching arsenal, potentially fitting into the middle or back of a major league rotation. Toronto, New York, and Los Angeles represent intriguing possibilities, with Itoh potentially commanding a three-year contract worth approximately $30 million to $40 million.

Average Ranking: 39.75
Former Team: Toronto Blue Jays
Creator Predictions:

Average Ranking: 40.75
Former Team: Seattle Mariners

Player Analysis:
After eight seasons in Seattle, J.P. Crawford enters free agency following a 2026 campaign in which he batted .221/.335/.352 with 14 home runs and 40 RBI. Player Analysis:
Mauricio Dubón enjoyed a productive 2026 season with Atlanta, batting .276/.321/.399 with 12 home runs, 73 RBI, and 2.4 fWAR across 153 games. His greatest strength remains his defensive versatility, having played five different positions while providing approximately league-average offensive production. A return to Atlanta makes sense given the Braves' infield needs, while Toronto and Detroit could also benefit from his flexibility. Dubón could attract a multiyear deal, potentially in the two-year, $16 million to $22 million range.

Trent Grisham enters free agency looking to rebound after batting .211/.308/.395 with 18 home runs and 59 RBI in 121 games for the Yankees in 2026. A two-time Gold Glove winner, Grisham offers left-handed power, patience at the plate, and experience in center field, although his defensive performance has declined. A return to New York remains possible, while Philadelphia and Kansas City could explore his services. Average Ranking: 45.50
Former Team: Hanwha Eagles of the KBO
Potential Landing Spots: St. Louis Cardinals, Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Angels
Player Analysis:
South Korean third baseman Si-Hwan Roh enters the MLB posting process following a strong 2026 season with the Hanwha Eagles, batting .283/.360/.505 with 29 home runs and 96 RBI. The 25-year-old offers considerable right-handed power, although his strikeout rate and defensive limitations at third base raise questions about his transition to MLB. St. Louis, Seattle, New York, and Los Angeles are potential destinations. Bold Offseason Predictions
With a potential lockout looming, a new era of Angels ownership approaching, and several major free agents available, the 2026–27 offseason could be anything but ordinary.
As part of our prediction challenges, InsideHalos writers and fellow Angels content creators were invited to share their boldest predictions for the months ahead. From unexpected trades and aggressive spending to concerns about the upcoming season, here's what our participants had to say.
InsideHalos Writers' Bold Predictions
Bryan Whitfield: “The Dodgers take a quieter approach to free agency, making most of their major additions through trades rather than big-money signings.”
Alex Sukyas: “Ryan Jeffers will be the biggest surprising signing of the offseason.”
Brayden Zielke: “The Angels won't spend as aggressively as some fans expect under new ownership. Instead, 2027 will serve as a transition year for the organization.”
Cade Lalim: “The Minnesota Twins will have the best offseason of any MLB organization.”
Cruz Cambero: “The Chicago White Sox will emerge as major spenders this offseason.”
Jack Argent: “Could Josh Hader be traded this offseason?”
Jacob Firmage: “Teruaki Sato signs with the Philadelphia Phillies, while the Angels trade Reid Detmers to the Tampa Bay Rays.”
Jas Singh: “The Angels finish among MLB's five biggest spenders this winter.”
Kian Behravan: “The looming labor dispute prevents MLB from beginning the 2027 regular season on time.”
Micah Julian: “The Los Angeles Dodgers spend less than $100 million in total free-agent contracts this offseason.”
Zac Holladay: “The Angels fail to sign a single player from Mark Feinsand's Top 30 free-agent rankings.”
Creator Free Agency Predictions Challenge
Our participating Angels content creators also had an opportunity to submit their boldest offseason predictions.
SuperHaloBros: “The Washington Nationals aggressively invest in starting pitching and bullpen reinforcements.”
TaylorWardLover: “Taylor Ward returns to Anaheim, rejoining the Los Angeles Angels.”
InsideHalos: “The Athletics make a great splash this offseason signing Luis Arraez…why Arraez? Because he gets on base.”
HaloTees, AngelsOnly, and Angels Glazer also participated in the Creator Free Agency Predictions Challenge but did not submit their bold predictions.
An Offseason of Contrasting Expectations
Perhaps the most interesting takeaway from our predictions is how differently our contributors view the Angels' immediate future under new owner, Stan Kroenke. While Jas Singh anticipates a significant spending spree under KSE, Brayden Zielke expects a more measured approach as the organization transitions into a new era. Zac Holladay takes that skepticism a step further, predicting that none of the Top 30 free agents will land in Anaheim.
The Dodgers also generated considerable debate, with multiple contributors anticipating a quieter winter in free agency and a greater emphasis on trades.
With the collective bargaining agreement approaching expiration and a potential lockout looming, the 2026–27 offseason presents an unusual opportunity for organizations across Major League Baseball to reshape their rosters.
For the Angels, the coming months could prove especially important as the franchise prepares to enter a new chapter under Kroenke's ownership.
Whether our writers' and creators' predictions prove accurate or the market delivers unexpected surprises, InsideHalos will be following the latest developments throughout free agency.
Which free agents would you like to see the Angels pursue? And which of our writers' or creators' predictions do you believe will come true?
