5 Angels Prospects to Watch Heading Into 2027

This season can be described in only one word: disaster.
After seeing the slight improvement last season, it was easy to say that the team would continue its upward trajectory. That obviously hasn’t been the case. There’s no telling what this new front office has in terms of a game plan or how they will approach the offseason. One thing we do know is that it seems like they have fully embraced the rebuild and are banking on the young guys.
With that being said, let’s look at some names you should be keeping an eye on, whether they make the jump to the majors or take a leap to another level.
Tyler Bremner
Of course, we must start this off with the best pitching prospect in the system. The 2nd overall pick in 2025 has had an up-and-down year between High-A and Double-A.
As of today, Bremner carries a 4.08 ERA in 68.1 innings between both levels. The RHP totaled 100 strikeouts on the year, giving him a K/9 rate of 12.39.
It’s highly unlikely that we will see him in the majors in 2027, especially with the new front office regime. There’s still a lot of development needed on Bremner’s part, but if he continues to improve, we could see him make his major league debut in 2028.
Arjun Nimmala
Nimmala was the main return piece in the deal that sent Jose Soriano to the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this season. The 38th-ranked prospect in MLB’s Top 100 rankings, the 20-year-old shortstop still needs plenty of development.
He currently boasts a slash line of .256/.365/.454 in Double-A. Zach Neto has locked up the shortstop position for the foreseeable future, but the rumors of a trade are still lingering.
If Nimmala continues to ascend throughout the minors and Neto gets traded, there will at least be a possibility that the Angels’ No. 1 overall prospect could be suiting up for the big-league squad.
Nelson Rada
Nelson Rada is one of the “veterans” when it comes to prospects in the Angels organization. Still only 21, Rada has been in the organization since 2022.
The outfielder has spent the entire 2026 season at the Triple-A level and has put together a nice season. The power is still something left to be desired, but his fielding and baserunning are elite tools that he possesses.
Rada is hitting .266 with a .713 OPS while swiping 36 bases in 118 games. This is someone who could very well be on the major league roster to start the 2027 season.
George Klassen
This is another player who could very well start the 2027 season on the big-league roster. Klassen came over from Philadelphia in the trade that sent Carlos Estévez to the Phillies.
Although it’s a small sample size, the 24-year-old has shown some flashes of what kind of pitcher he can become with proper development. His power fastball is easily his best pitch, consistently sitting around 97 mph, while he also possesses a solid slider and curveball.
In six starts with the Angels, Klassen possesses a 3.67 ERA in 27 innings. After two subpar appearances back in April, he was sent back down to the minors before returning to the major league squad in August. Since his return, he carries a 2.01 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 22.1 innings.
Hayden Alvarez
Hayden Alvarez isn’t someone you should be expecting in MLB anytime soon. With that being said, he is still someone you should DEFINITELY be keeping an eye on.
Still only 19, Alvarez has torn up every level of the minors that he has played at up to this point. Between A-ball and High-A, he’s hitting .289 while also carrying an .847 OPS.
Like Nelson Rada, he isn’t known for his power. What he does well is get on base and steal bases, along with providing solid defense and a strong arm.
There’s still a long way to go for him, but Alvarez, the No. 3 prospect in the system, is definitely someone who has lots of potential and could storm through the minor leagues.
